Kids learn the art of video production

I volunteered with Art 180, a non-profit company designed to teach children
about the arts, lending my television production skills to a worth-while cause. The program that I participated
in taught children from two Richmond, Virginia Public Housing Communities how to produce a video. I kept a daily journal
of the students' progress, facilitated some group activities and brainstorming sessions, showed students how to use video
cameras and black and white disposable cameras, and helped to create a storyline for the finished video production. As a result
of a collaborative effort between students and the volunteers of Art 180, a music video was produced showcasing the
students' neighborhoods, hopes, dreams, and desires.
