Valerie D. Parker, Production Coordinator

Valerie is the Production Coordinator for Link Media. She has coordinated shoots and several live shows for Link Media’s teen-focused public access show, “We Got Issues.” She brings a diverse background to the company and we’re glad to have her as a part of our team.

Raised and educated in Richmond Public Schools, Valerie earned a BA in English from Virginia Commonwealth University.  One of the most rewarding experiences she has been afforded was learning under such authors as Jacqueline Woodson, Cornelius Eady, and Norma Fox-Mazer (to name a few) with the National Book Foundation’s summer writing camps in upstate New York and Barrington, Massachusetts (Summers 1995, 1996, 1998, and 2000).

She has also been given the experience of learning the world of theatre as a member of the now-defunct Johari Players, a student theatre organization on the campus of VCU.  It was there that she received training under Dr. A. Clifton Myles, a then-graduated student, who gave direction in acting, stage and prop management to Johari Players.

She now adds Link Media to her resume and has used her extensive communications background to help the company grow.

Andrea D. Benjamin, Lead Instructor

Andrea was the lead instructor for Link Media’s summer television production program. She taught 20 pre-teens about the television production process and helped the students improve their public speaking skills.

Andrea brings a vast communications background to Link Media. She graduated from Howard University in 1998 with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism. Her multi-media experience is impressive. Link Media uses new technologies to introduce important issues to the public. This is her specialty. From September 1998- June 2005 she served as an At-Large Reporter for the Beacon newspaper in New York City. Her public service continues, she currently produces an on-line newsletter informing readers of coming events at the Hyperlink Café, a restaurant in downtown Richmond. She also comes to Link Media with a graphic design background. She is presently the Publishing Design Director for the Print Shop in Richmond.

Andrea plans to work with Link Media on future projects. We have enjoyed having her as apart of our team.
